Abuse of Power Snake Deep Plate

Snake plate with writing to make every meal a bit less peaceful.

Writing “Abuse of power comes as no suprprise” is originaly used by Jenny Holzer in her Truisms (1983).

My drawings of snakes are so simplified, that they can refer to any type of snake. However this collection is inspired by and dedicated to Palestine Viper (Daboia palaestinae). This species endemic to Levant region symbolises the land and its enduring identity. Palestine Viper (Daboia palaestinae) was declared Israel's national snake in 2018.

Handmade ceramic plate decorated by underglaze and glazen in trasparent glaze. Made in a studio in Prague. Each plate has slightly different handpainted snake.
